“Der falsche Deutsche” ist der dritte Roman des Leipziger Autors Thomas Podhostnik. Man kann ihn durchaus als Fortsetzung seiner ersten beiden Bücher lesen. Das Kind slowenischer Gastarbeiter, dem man im “Gezeichneten Hund” erstmals begegnet, ist jetzt ein junger Mann, der aus dem ungeliebten Deutschland nach Kuba geflohen ist. Im Reisegepäck Thomas Manns Zauberberg. Aber das Land, in dem “der Blonde” aufgewachsen ist, verfolgt ihn unerbittlich bis auf die ferne Karibikinsel. Denn hier wird er mit einem ebenso idealistischen wie antiquierten Deutschlandbild konfrontiert, das kaum etwas mit der Wirklichkeit zu tun hat, die er kennt.
